Rosalyn Watson
Rosalyn was born in the small town of Gibson, Louisiana as the youngest of four children in the family. I am currently residing in Schriever, Louisiana. Art came naturally to her as her first drawing was that of an apple at the age of 3.
Rosalyn graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Art Studio from Gallaudet University in 2019. If you are ever on campus you can see her artwork in various locations throughout the campus. Gallaudet University was proud to buy her artwork of "Deaf Culture" and is still displaying her work in the President's office as today.
Rosalyn received several awards for academics as well as recognition from various entities for her artwork. Rosalyn's artwork has also been featured in "Unfolding the Soul of Black Deaf Expressions Exhibition" in the book. Rosalyn had donated her artworks for Camp Sol and auctioned 2 of her artworks as part of a fundraiser to raise money for the camp. Also, Gallaudet University bought one of her artworks for the Center for Black Deaf Studies Symposium in the last week of March 2023. The artwork was called "Kendall Green for Black Students".
Rosalyn is honored by doing the artwork for Museum of Deaf History, Art, and Culture (MDHAC) in Olathe, Kansas. It will be shown very soon this month, July. The 30" X 40" artwork will be called "Deaf Culture II." Rosalyn's artworks are still there to show her works at MDHAC for two years and it will end in September 2023.
Rosalyn says "I want the world to see the works she is doing the arts with her passion in arts all her life."
